David and Goliath (2024)

"David and Goliath" is a musical depiction of the original underdog story, an exceptional tale referenced by both Christianity and popular culture. When King Saul and his army cower at the sight of the Goliath, a shepherd boy named David rises to the challenge. Thin, light textures are pitted against dramatic musical gestures, portraying the battle between the giant and our unlikely hero. Eventually, David’s modest motif becomes the mightiest of all as our protagonist overpowers Goliath and vanquishes the villain. This show features quotations from the traditional Latin mass, the hymn “Be Thou My Vision,” as well as original music by John Kosch.

From Ashes (2021)

This show follows humanity's metaphorical rise from the ashes. The opener features a mashup of Mozart's "Dies Irae" and "Totentanz" by Franz Liszt to represent the day of wrath that dissolved the world. What follows this catastrophe is a humble prayer— "Be Still My Soul," Sibelius's well-known hymn provides the strength to persevere. Like the mythical Phoenix, humanity is renewed during the thrilling conclusion of Stravinsky's "Firebird."
