Under the direction of Jared Wilhelm, the Pius X bands continued their 65th anniversary celebration with my piece, “Kinetic Architecture” to commemorate the construction of their new performing arts venue.
Under the direction of Greg Simon, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Jazz Orchestra performed Shadowboxing at Saint Paul United Methodist Church.

Under the direction of Matthew Stubbs, the Minden High School jazz band played my flex jazz arrangement of “Bye Bye Blackbird,” earning a superior (1) rating from all judges.
Elise Anderson, Alex Sharp, Jacob Dill, Aaron Mathis, Bennett Jandreau, Keygan Boesiger, Luke Eckles, Alex Steinke, John Benson, Kitty Camero, and Comet Smith premiered my dissertation piece, The Ballad of the Wheel, for voice, percussion, and electronics at Concordia University.
Grant Asklar performed Light Amidst the Haze for tenor saxophone and electronics as part of his final master’s recital at Western Michigan University.
Central Washington University saxophone instructor Aaron Patrick Burr performed Light Amidst the Haze for tenor saxophone and electronics at the North American Saxophone Alliance (NASA) Region 1 Conference in Moscow, Idaho.
Angel Rodriguez-Villalobos premiered “The Convalescent” for solo trombone in collaboration with the Sheldon Museum of Art. This event would not have been possible without M Joseph Willette, who organized the collaboration.
This year, Jared J. Wilhelm and the Pius X High School bands performed each of the pieces commissioned by the program to celebrate its 65th year of existence. This included a February 23rd performance of my 2022 work, Restore.
My former theory student, Rae Barbee premiered Little Fires Earth and Sky for solo clarinet in collaboration with the Lux Center for the Arts.
Duo Velox (Aaron Burr & Katilyn Neufeld) performed my mixed woodwind duo at the Texas Music Educator’s Association (TMEA) Conference in February.
